#PLStories- Marco Silva feels draw with Cherries was ‘two points lost’ #FulhamFC

MARCO Silva described Fulham's 2-2 draw against Cherries as two points lost, insisting his side "deserved" victory. Cherries twice led at Craven Cottage through goals from Dominic Solanke and Jefferson Lerma. Issa Diop and Aleksandar Mitrovic equalised, with Cherries defending resolutely to earn a share of the spoils as the hosts pushed for a winner in the second half. Asked if he felt the draw was a point gained or two lost for Fulham, boss Silva said: "Two lost. A tough match, like we expected, against a good side. "A form side as well, they were in good momentum. "After the last two defeats for us, we knew it was crucial for us to start the match well, start on the front foot, to create problems. "What happened was the opposite. The first minute of the match we conceded a goal. Of course you have to be much more aggressive in that moment. We concede with, in terms of numbers, with six against two inside our penalty box. "But after that, I have to be proud of the reaction of our players. A great reaction. They took control of the match, pushed them back. "They started to play in their own half, around their box. We started to create some dangerous moments around their box as well. "I think we deserved to get the equaliser and then the same thing happened again, the next time they went around our box they scored. "And they had another chance from a corner, with a save from Bernd (Leno)." He continued: "Second half, we made some changes at half-time, not just the players but some important details which had an impact on the game. "The second half was all from ourselves, that is the truth. They played with nine players around their box and just Solanke up front. "I know they were winning and the responsibility was for us to get control of the game. "It is tough to play against nine players around their box and the goalkeeper. "We equalised and then we played so many times around their box. With different decisions in the attack, the last pass, last decision, last delivery as well, our team could score even more goals. "It was something our players probably deserved. But it is one point and we have to keep going."

#PLStories- Marco Silva provides Aleksandar Mitrovic injury update #FulhamFC

MARCO Silva will make a late call on whether or not to include star striker Aleksandar Mitrovic against Cherries this weekend. The Serbia international, who has netted six goals in eight Premier League appearances this season, missed Fulham's trip to West Ham last weekend due to injury. But boss Silva revealed the 28-year-old was closing in on a return to fitness. He said: “He’s getting better. Today was the first day he was involved with the team after two weeks, two-and-a-half weeks without the team. “Now we are checking, assessing him, how he is feeling. We'll do the same later this evening to take the decision if he will be involved in the squad list or not. “Let's see what will happen next few hours. I'll meet with the medical staff, and my technical staff as well, and after I will take the decision.” Elsewhere, Fulham are set to be boosted by the return of former Arsenal and Chelsea winger Willian. The experienced Brazilian has not featured since mid-September. But full-back pair Kenny Tete and Layvin Kurzawa remain sidelined. “Willian will be involved,” confirmed Silva. “Kenny will be out, like Kurzawa as well. “When you have this type of muscle injury, even if it doesn't look really serious, you have to be careful and assess day-by-day to improve a little bit their work on a daily basis to see when they will be fully ready to be involved with the team.”

#PLStories- Marco Silva believes AFC Bournemouth are improving under Gary O’Neil #AFCB

FULHAM boss Marco Silva is expecting another "very good game" against Cherries, after the pair slogged it out in the Championship promotion race last season. Both sides eventually ended up finishing in the top two positions in the table, Fulham accumulating two points more than Scott Parker's men to win the title. During the campaign, the two sides shared gripping 1-1 draws, and now go head-to-head in the top flight at Craven Cottage this weekend, with Gary O'Neil at the helm, having replaced Parker in August. Looking ahead to Saturday's clash between the two newly-promoted clubs, Silva said: “Last year was last year, it was completely different. Now, a different manager as well, but last season was a different competition. "We had two tough games against them, two different games but two good games as well and, of course, under Gary they have been improving and the team is in the best form right now, a very good reaction from them. “They are much more confident and they are getting the results because the quality is there. Of course, you see them in a good level because they are a good team, they fought like us last season to be at this level and they are at a good level. “It will be another very good game against them I believe, another tough one to play but we are at home, we want to react from the last two games.”
