Fulham coach Marco Silva spoke to the press following Fulham’s 1-0 away win over Brighton on Saturday afternoon.
Marco Silva: “ It wasn’t our best performance I don’t think we performed at our best level. Brighton played better than us. We showed belief and resilience. But I must say our performance on the ball was not at our level.”
Despite the result, which moved Fulham up to sixth in the Premier League, Marco was keen to make clear that he wasn’t pleased with his side’s performance on the pitch.
Marco Silva added: “Brighton has the capacity to be confident on the ball. They were clearly better than us. We changed something at half-time. I think the team improves with some substitutes that we made. Manor had an impact on the game. Our backline was there. Leno was there every time. Overall looking to the game, great three points for us. Brighton deserved more than the game but there are times when we played better than the opposition and come with nothing from the game. I remember the games against Tottenham and Man United and at the end of those we came with nothing. It wasn’t our best performance. They were on the front foot for most of the games. They were more dominant. We’ve kept another clean sheet. That is four in five games away from home. But this is a massive win for us it shows the capacity to win football matches when you are not playing well.”
Mitro was a notable absentee this afternoon, with Bobby De Cordova-Reid coming in to fill his position.
Marco Silva said: “I decided to play with a different profile. It is maybe our fault because we are really connected to play with a nine. Mitro was a big miss for us. In the last match against Forest, he felt something in his hamstring. He decided to keep going in that game. We accessed him during the week and we were told he would be unavailable. It is a minor injury.”
