Roy Keane had been “dealt with” by Nottingham Forest boss Brian Clough after he was allegedly involved in a late night fracas during the club’s midweek break in Jersey.
Keane, suspended for Forest’s relegation clash at Everton, was sent home from the Channel Islands early by disciplinarian Clough. Keane, 21, recently signed a new three and a half year £5000 a week contract to stay at Forest and there were chances that he had been heavily fined following the drink related row.
The Irishman had also been punished earlier in the season when he was involved in a similar incident outside a pub in Southampton after Forest had lost there with his manager commenting that he needed to get into a steady relationship in order to sort out his personal life.
