Chelsea hero Graham Stuart insisted that he wanted to stay at the club despite public revelations over his contract demands. Winger Stuart’s late goal provided Chelsea with their first win in 14 games and the first under new manager David Webb when they beat Arsenal 1-0 at Stamford Bridge. But he admitted he was the subject of an article in the programme by managing director Colin Hutchinson who revealed he was seeking a deal worth £4000 plus bonuses.
Graham Stuart said “I’m very disappointed about the piece, but if that is how they want to conduct their business then it is up to them. I’m not going to get involved with talking about the political side of things, but I’ve never said anything other than that I want to be involved in the new era at Chelsea.”
