John Terry was a proud Chelsea fan whilst watching their 2-1 win over Leicester City on Tuesday night. Second half goals from Antonio Rudiger and Jorginho sealed a vital three points for Thomas Tuchel’s side, as they are now on the brink of securing a top-four finish in the Premier League. However, the biggest talking point at Stamford Bridge wasn’t the result. Rather it was the incident that took place during the closing stages of the clash when a large-scale melee broke out on the touchline after Leicester’s right-back Ricardo Pereira had fouled his former teammate and current Chelsea left-back Ben Chilwell.
John Terry said: “I love this. Reminds me of the Spurs game.”
Thomas Tuchel said: “I did not talk about it. I know there was an incident but I didn’t talk about it before the match or in any meetings, I don’t do this but I think the players were well aware. I’m not into these things too much because it can sometimes give you too much energy, too much a feeling for revenge. I don’t like this at all We prepared for a super important match and did what we do, how we play football. We wanted to do it at the highest level possible and this is what we did. We needed the intensity and hunger that make us a difficult team to play. There’s nothing more I can say about it.”
