Manchester United manager spoke out about him revamping the youth policy at the club and how only the club thought that they were too big a name to go looking for players at which was the wrong approach.
Sir Alex Ferguson said “When I arrived at Old Trafford, a lot of people said that the club wasn’t working hard enough to attract the best young players. It was felt that name was big enough but that was nonsense. The first thing I did was to set up a youth policy which involved staging soccer schools. I wanted to let people know that United were out there in the market and not waiting for people to come to them. It’s like any business, if you are not out there telling people who you are showing them how you do business, you won’t profit.”
