QPR scored a vital win at Sheffield United on Saturday to keep them in contention for a European place. Gerry Francis’s men, devasted by injuries and bad luck in previous weeks, got a much-needed stroke of luck at the right time.
The home side had the R’s on the rack for much of the second half but two deflected goals and a staunch display by defender Alan Mcdonald were enough to give the visitors three points. A European place was well within their grasp and as London’s top club in the premier league, three ahead of Chelsea and four in front of Arsenal.
