David Moyes has once again made no secret about the fact he is looking to bring in another striker to the club. Speaking ahead of the FA Cup clash with Doncaster Rovers on Saturday afternoon Moyes was in an upbeat mood about his squad and how the season has gone so far.
David Moyes said “We want to keep winning, we want to keep this good feeling going, we want to keep the momentum going. The improvement in the players individually has been fantastic and they deserve all the credit for how they have done that. I actually prefer to work with a smaller squad generally. But not so thin in the centre forward area. But if you look at a lot of successful teams they are not chopping and changing their teams, they have an idea of what their best ten players are, or what they might play, and if you look at our current form we have actually been quite consistent and stable in or team selections for long periods. But we have got Micky [Antonio] who has had a record of not always being in all the games [through injury], so we could do with someone who would at least give us some protection if he was not available. There is no doubt that we need and would like to add to what we have got to the squad if we can. I don’t want to waste money, I don’t want to waste the space in the squad and fill it up with someone who is going to be here for 2-3 years and maybe I can’t move on and I can’t change around. I want people in who I think will be here for a while. I’m exploring the loan market as well to see if we get things done on can which might be able to work for six months or to the end of the season. I want to get try and get good players in, I want to try and get players which can keep West Ham going in the right direction. I’m trying, we have bid for three or four.”
