Carlo Ancelotti has fired a warning to Premier League defenders as Everton prepare to welcome back Dominic Calvert-Lewin after a lay-off.
Carlo Ancelotti said “He is refreshed, fully fit and motivated. I think the time he spent out was good for him because I think after his last game versus West ham he was a little bit tired, he had a little [injury] problem and now with this break he is fresh, fit motivated and I think he can show his best quality,” Ancelotti said.”
The Blues’ top scorer has missed the last three games with injury but is in contention to face Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup on Sunday night and then play against Leicester City in the league on Wednesday. Calvert-Lewin hasn’t scored since the start of December and was starved of much service in the games thereafter before his injury. But Ancelotti believes the enforced lay-off has helped the 23-year-old recharge his batteries and expects him to be back among the goals sooner rather than later.
