Brian Clough remained defiant despite Nottingham Forest’s 12th defeat of the season, which left them five points adrift at the bottom of the premier league. Clough saw his side cruelly beaten 2-1 at Tottenham but insisted “Our heads will never drop and we’ll go on fighting until we get it right. 1993 is a new year and a fresh start. We’ll do everything to get out of this mess, starting against Southampton on Sunday.”
