Jack Grealish
Everton’s transfer strategy is under scrutiny as the January window approaches, with particular focus on Jack Grealish and Iliman Ndiaye. Grealish, who joined Everton on loan from Manchester City for the 2025/26 season, has been instrumental in pushing the team close to a top-four Premier League finish. Meanwhile, Ndiaye’s performances have sparked speculation about potential interest from rival clubs.
Fabrizio Romano said: “I think it’s a possibility to find a solution with Manchester City because what I am told is Jack Grealish has no way back at Manchester City. He is very happy there, very happy at Everton, so I think they have a chance to find a solution if all parties go in the same direction. They can try to find a financial solution.”
Romano added: “At the moment I would stay calm and enjoy the player, to be honest. Then, let’s see. In the summer after the World Cup things are gonna move, but at the moment I don’t want to spread panic.”
Romano further stated: “At the moment still nothing. Everton are not desperate to add players in January. If there is the right opportunity [they might], but they are not desperate. At the moment what I am told is patience. I am sorry, but nothing really imminent or new, but very soon I will have updates.”
Grealish’s loan agreement includes an option for a £50 million permanent transfer, but Everton is reportedly hoping to negotiate a lower fee. His contributions of two goals and four assists have been vital for David Moyes’ side, who are currently just four points away from a Champions League spot. The situation around Ndiaye is also intriguing; Everton acquired him from Marseille for approximately £15 million in 2024, and he has since scored four goals and provided two assists this season. Despite the looming transfer window, Everton appears to be adopting a cautious approach, with no urgent plans to make mid-season additions unless the right opportunity arises.
The club’s focus remains on maintaining their current momentum, with both Grealish and Ndiaye playing pivotal roles. As the World Cup concludes, the summer transfer window is expected to bring more clarity to their futures. For now, Everton fans are encouraged to enjoy the performances of these key players as the team continues to push for European qualification.
