Despite conceding seven goals in the first two matches and not picking up a single point yet, Fulham manager Scott Parker still feels that the character of the squad and believes that the team can turn around their fortunes quickly. The West London team was outclassed by Arsenal on the opening day and went down against Leeds in a thrilling 4-3 match.
Scott Parker said “Of course, there’s massive hope. That will always be there. This team will fight all year and will do everything in our power to try and make this year successful. We realise the challenges, we all do but we realise we’re in the bes tleague in the world. We can’t let defeats cripple us, we’ll come back fighting again, we’ll learn from this because we have to. We’re going to have to quickly try and improve things with different personal or us in terms of the way we have to understand what this league is about. You’re 100% right. It’s easy setting out tactics, putting drills on, giving up that information. What is hard sometimes is trying to give something which I’m talking about. That’s my job to get that across to the team, that’s my job to try and give them exactly what I’m talking about. Last year we had battles with this and what youve seen today is a vast improvement on where we were a year ago the difference is in this division the margin for error is a lot les.s. Like last year I have no doubt we’ll come out the other side and improve and come stronger from it.”
