Ian Rush Kenny Daglish
Ian Rush, stepped off the treatment table to spoil his mentor’s return to the Merseyside. Rush forged a deadly partnership with Kenny Dalglish and was frequently praised as Anfield’s outstanding performer during the Dalglish managerial era. Ian Rush also became the club’s highest goal scorer after his goal against Manchester United in October of that year. But he was struggling with a hamstring problem for a few weeks. Blackburn had title ambitions that year and Liverpool was languishing at 10th place in the table having dropped as low as 19th at one stage.
