Eric Cantona may be capturing the headlines at Manchester United but England midfielder Paul Ince insisted that the inspirational leadership qualities of Bryan Robson were in great demand that season. As United prepared for the upcoming Manchester Derby against City at Old Trafford in which Cantona could make his league debut – Ince explained how vital Robbo was to that team. He said “We just feel more confident when Robbo is in the side. He’s got us going again. No one disputes his authority, if we get a bit slack he is there to wake us up. Robbo’s also got this gift of being able to sense danger. He sees things in the game and moves to take care of them. Considering that he is getting on a bit I have to do more running these days, but I am willing to run myself in the ground for Robbo.”
