Stuart Dallas believes that Leeds United showed plenty of character to bounce back and come away with a 3-1 victory over Burnley at Elland Road on Sunday afternoon.
Stuart Dallas Said: “Brilliant. Relief more than anything. I think first-half we didn’t start so well. They caused us a few problems. I would say long ball, but there’s a way to how they play and you’ve got to give them credit. We got ourselves back into the game and I thought we dominated then. We got ahead in the game but we’re disappointed with how we conceded the equaliser. I thought it was a soft free-kick, I will have to look at it again but it was a great finish. We showed big bottle to go again and thankfully we’ve came out on top.”
Dallas’ strike was his first goal of the season and it was at an important time in the game just as Burnley gained a foothold, but Leeds seemed to see out the contest professionally considering the circumstances. On his 250th appearance for the Whites, the 30-year-old explained his thought process behind the finish.
Stuart Dallas added: “There was one that came to me in the first-half on my right foot and I tried to do the same thing, so I was glad it didn’t come to me on my right foot. I’ve seen a wall of players come towards me and if you put your head down and smash it, it will probably hit someone, so I’ve just side-footed it in. I’ve been due one of them this season and glad it went in.”
