Albion’s boss said it was a great way to finish a busy week for the Seagulls, after beating Brentford on Boxing Day and drawing with Chelsea on Wednesday night. Albion won the game through Alexis Mac Allister, who opened the scoring just three minutes in after latching on to a cushioned Neal Maupay header.
Graham Potter said: “It’s a fantastic three points. It is a great start to the new year and a great end to a really big week for us. Obviously three points against Brentford, a point and good performance against Chelsea and a good performance here today which historically is not an easy place to come to. I thought we played well first in the first half, then the goal that we didn’t want changes the atmosphere of the game in the ground and you have to see that out, and we did that quite well.”
Albion take on West Brom away in the FA Cup on Saturday, with Valérien Ismaël’s side sitting fourth in the Championship.
