Ricardo Pereira will be “out for some time” but has not suffered another ACL tear nor a season-ending injury. The Leicester City full-back hobbled off during the Carabao Cup quarter-final at Liverpool in midweek following a reckless challenge by Reds midfielder Tyler Morton that was described as “nasty” by team-mate Marc Albrighton.
Ricardo Pereira said: “Perspectives. You can say I should feel unlucky after coming off in my returning game and part of me is, but after what could be a season-ending tackle, what could be an ACL, I’m feeling lucky it’s none of those even though I’ll be out some time. Like I say, it’s perspective, for some it was just a yellow card.”
City manager Brendan Rodgers, who described the tackle on Ricardo as “poor”, is expected to give a full diagnosis after the Boxing Day trip to Manchester City.
