It seemed that Paul Rideout’s days were numbered at Goodison Park after Everton’s manager was still in search of a striker in the transfer window. Paul Rideout had scored against Aston Villa in opening match and was expected to keep his place against Tottenham Hotspur, but he was unsure for the rest of the season.
Everton manager Mike Walker was looking to sign Crystal Palace’s Chris Armstrong and if the deal concluded, they may have shown Paul Rideout the doors at Goodison Park.
