The opposing players sorted out their differences and hugged after full-time as the Seagulls went down 4-1 at Newcastle. Merseyside-based referee Robert Jones had earlier found himself in the middle of a Paraguayan disagreement at St James’s Park. Enciso clumsily fouled Almiron during the second half as Albion tried to force an equaliser. Almiron angrily pursued his opponent to make a point. But Enciso was having none of it and rather dismissively pushed Almiron in the chest. Argentina star Alexis Mac Allister looked to intervene and everything was eventually calmed down. Almiron stood out for Newcastle while Enciso also injected some spark for the visitors when he went on as sub. While a minor incident for English viewers, their disagreement made headlines back home. Enciso posted on social media: “Seeing everything that I’m being mentioned in, first off I want to say that the things that happen on the pitch stay on the pitch, I never want to fight with anyone and especially with Miguel. “Those that know me and the way I am know the respect I have for Miguel. “Still, I apologised, we apologised and now we’re fine. Miguel is an idol of mine, I adore him a lot and we both work hard to put our country at the top. “Today he won and I wish him the best. Thank you, brother for all the advice and the chat we had after the game, I learned a lot from you. “I know I didn’t leave a good image but I would never do anything bad. “I’m young and I’m learning everything every day.”

The Seagulls went down 3-1 at the City Ground after going ahead through a Facundo Buonanotte strike. Head coach Roberto De Zerbi said: "We have a lot of very good young players, [Facundo] Buonanotte and [Julio] Enciso. “But young players need to play and make mistakes and you have to give them the time to progress and improve. “I am disappointed but I am not frustrated because I know the situation. “I know we are Brighton, we can't forget we are Brighton - when we win or lose and especially when we lose. "We have to be proud of our results this season and we have to be focused on the last eight games. “We can fight to achieve our target. “We deserve to fight to reach our target but the situation is tough because we are not used to playing so many games in a row. "Yesterday (Tuesday), I said this game was the most important game of the season. “I’’m 44 years old. I knew yesterday and I knew on Sunday evening I knew the game today was very, very, very tough. “It was very tough for the energy but for the head too.”

The 19-year-old forward from Paraguay fired into the top corner to secure the club’s first ever league win at Chelsea. His goal was just part of his most exciting performance yet for the club. The 2-1 success keeps the Seagulls’ push for Europe on track follows his late strike in the recent success at Bournemouth. Roberto De Zerbi highlighted the fact he sent Enciso on before the more experienced Danny Welbeck as Albion made injury-enforced substitutions. The head coach added: “Enciso is one of my players and I believe in him. “He is improving. I think he can improve more. “I think he finished playing after his goal and I don’t want to see like this. “He has to think first of all of the squad, the team and then for himself. “But I’m helping him. For me it’s not a problem. “If he wants to become a great player, he has to improve in mentality and my work is to help my young players to progress.” Enciso said he would never forget his afternoon at Stamford Bridge as he sparkled even before the goal.
