There’s under three weeks to go until the January transfer window opens and Wolverhampton Wanderers can get to work. Wolves endured a forgetful end to the summer transfer window and missed out on multiple targets who would have aided Bruno Lage’s assault on the Premier League. Here’s the state of play at Molineux as things stand…
Bruno Lage’s wish is clear: he wants to add quality to his squad without losing anyone.
Speaking about the January transfer window,
Bruno Lage said: “We need to understand the financial part. January is sometimes a difficult month, so we need to understand the best deals. If the best deal comes with the right player, for me it’s good. The main point for January is that everyone should continue with us. For me, no one goes. Everyone continues with us. Maybe we need one or two players to improve our squad.”
The ‘one or two’ signings Lage refers to are understood to be a centre-back and a midfielder. Defenders Romain Saiss and Willy Boly will jet off to the Africa Cup of Nations at the end of this month, so signing a centre-back is a must.
