Liverpool are just two points off the summit of the Premier League after Chelsea drew 1-1 with Manchester United at Stamford Bridge. The Reds’ win over Southampton on Saturday moved them to within just a single point of Chelsea – with Thomas Tuchel’s side set to host United on Sunday evening. Chelsea boss Tuchel was disappointed that his side were unable to take all three points against United and keep their lead over Liverpool to four points.
Thomas Tuchel said: “It’s happened twice that we play good games against Burnley and Manchester United and we feel disappointed. Over a long season you drop points, you dig in and you try to steal them back when someone steals points from you. This is what we will try to do. Don’t count the points when you are one up or four up. We are in the middle and that is what we need.”
Chelsea had to come from behind to earn a point as Jadon Sancho gave United the lead in the second half before Jorginho scored from the spot to draw level. Antonio Rudiger had a huge chance late on to win the match but the German blazed his volley over the crossbar.
