Antonio Conte has revealed the importance of Tottenham’s Europa Conference League game against NS Mura and what he will do for his starting line-up. Spurs are currently second in their European group, three points behind table leaders Rennes, who the Lilywhites will play in their final match of the group stages. Conte has already admitted that this won’t be the same with the Spurs side he is now in charge of.
Antonio Conte said: “All the players available will come with us. They must be ready to play against Mura. I said on Sunday that I need to make rotation because there are players that are a bit tired because played many games with the national team and also we worked a lot in the last two weeks. There are other players that need game time.”
However, Conte has already hinted that it could be a great chance for Spurs to progress and get one step closer to their end product.
Antonio Conte said: “For us this competition is important. We want to take it seriously this fixture and we want to go through to the next step.”
Ahead of the European game, the Italian also spoke about Sessegnon, who returned from injury against Leeds and already admitted that he would be starting the game on Thursday.
Antonio Conte said: “We’re working with him for the past two weeks, now he’s ready to start the game tomorrow. I can’t wait to see his performance because he’s a talented player, very young with great space for improvement. Now it’s important to give him regularity to try to avoid injury and give him the chance to be available for every game.”
The 21-year-old also spoke to the media ahead of Thursday’s clash, explaining what the aims of the coach and the team are.
Ryan Sessegnon said: “We’ve got a coach who’s a winner and that’s his aim – to make sure we’re winning games. We’ve got the quality on the pitch, the coach as well and if we bring that together we’ve got a very good squad. The aim for us this season is to win games and win trophies.”
Therefore when the Lilywhites face NS Mura, Conte will be expected to make changes, give some players vital game time but ultimately, lead his side to three points to help in their Europa Conference League group.
