Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is delighted with the recent commitment shown by Paul Pogba but says he can not comment any further on his future at Manchester United.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said: “Talks between Paul and the club I can’t comment. But of course if Paul is happy here; that’s great because then we get the best football from Paul. That is every single player here, we need everyone to be giving everything they have. You see the reaction from everyone after the game. Paul’s first pump as you said. When we block, when we save some chances everyone’s giving what they can for the team. Paul is one of them as well I have to praise him for that.”
Pogba, 28, is out of contract at the end of the season and, unless he signs a new deal, will be free to negotiate with another European club from the January transfer window. Solskjaer has openly stated his desire to keep the Frenchman at the club on a new long-term deal and talks are believed to be ongoing regarding a possible contract extension. Pogba told reporters he was ‘happy’ at United after a dramatic comeback win against Atalanta in midweek and was captured fist pumping on the pitch at his delight to win the match late on. Speaking ahead of the clash with Liverpool this weekend the United manager was asked whether or not Pogba’s on-pitch reaction was an indication he is happy to commit his long-term future to the club.
