Jurgen Klopp has urged patience with Jadon Sancho as the England international continues to endure an underwhelming start to his Manchester United career. Speaking ahead of his side’s trip to Manchester United on Sunday, the German hinted that Cristiano Ronaldo ’s return to the Red Devils has complicated Sancho’s own start to his United career due to the added competition for places.
Jurgen Klopp said “Jadon Sancho is a world class talent, definitely. He has all the things you need to become really one of the best players in the world in the future. That’s how it is but he’s still very young. At Dortmund they were obviously full of praise about him. Rightly so. I saw a lot of games where he played outstandingly well. It’s a normal situation where you are especially, I’m not but you are, you lose patience a little bit quickly. Don’t forget the options United have in his position. Mason Greenwood. Wow! What a talent he is. Jadon for sure can play in other positions and Mason can play in the centre but there’s not space anymore so they share the wing if you want. That’s a problem you want to have as a manager actually to be honest. But everything will be fine for Jadon, just hopefully not on Sunday!”
The 21-year-old Jadon Sancho has started just three Premier League matches since joining the Red Devils from Klopp ’s former club Borussia Dortmund in the summer, and is yet to register a goal or assist in his 11 appearances for his new club. With Liverpool repeatedly linked with the winger prior to his £73m move to Old Trafford, Klopp is a big fan of both Sancho and his team-mate Mason Greenwood.
