Marcelo Bielsa has the belief that Rodrigo will soon come good and justify the price tag that made him the Whites’ club-record signing. The Argentine tactician confirmed that the Spaniard missed the score draw with Everton through a muscular injury.
Marcelo Bielsa said: “During the week he had a slight muscular issue, from which he recovered quickly. If that hadn’t happened he would have been our offensive midfielder in the game today. I have a lot of confidence in the qualities of Rodrigo. During the six weeks of pre-season, he’s the player who shone the most.”
The 30-year-old scored seven goals in 26 Premier League appearances in his debut season in the English top-flight.
