Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will have learned a big lesson about his central defensive options during the 1-0 defeat by Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday afternoon. Speaking after the game, Arteta acknowledged the issues with the high line and heaped praise on White, which could hint at a competitive Arsenal debut against Brentford on Friday.
Mikel Arteta said: “Yeah, he was really good. But again, it’s a match where they haven’t played. The game had different phases. The first ten minutes when we had some problems in our high press and we were a little disorganised. After that, I think we got control of the game and we dominated it.
As the Gunners are still looking toothless in attack, they can ill-afford too many individual defensive mistakes next season.
