Sheffield United are yet to hear a response from Kean Bryan after offering him a new contract. The Blades defender was offered fresh terms by the Blades ahead of his contract expiring on June 30 but an agreement was not reached. Bryan remains a free agent after departing the club and has been linked with a move to promotion rivals West Brom. However, the Baggies have now signed Matt Clarke on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion, which may fill their need for a left-sided defender. The latest development comes from reports that Middlesbrough are taking an interest in Bryan, report Football Insider. Neil Warnock has already added Lee Peltier, Joe Lumley, Sammy Ameobi, Uche Ikpeazu and Matt Crooks to his squad and Bryan could be the latest piece of shrewd business from the ex-United boss. Slavisa Jokanovic admitted he is not focusing on Bryan’s situation when last quizzed about his future.
Slavisa Jokanovic said: “There doesn’t exist any change. The club inform me they’ve offered him the contract and at the moment I don’t have any information that we’ve received some answer. He’s outside of the contract and in this moment I am really not thinking about him. It’s really clear at the moment. I am not thinking about him and I don’t have information he is part of my staff, in the future or not we will see.”
Bryan featured 13 times last season in the Premier League, scoring in the 2-1 win against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
