Wolverhampton Wanderers will jet out to Marbella on Tuesday for the next phase of Bruno Lage’s first pre-season as head coach. A depleted first team group, which is still awaiting the returns of several key internationals, have enjoyed two gruelling weeks of training under Lage at Compton. Conor Coady and Adama Traore will miss the Marbella camp, but Portuguese trio Nelson Semedo, Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho are set to return, and so is Leander Dendoncker. However, now that Rui Patricio is out of the picture, John Ruddy is targeting a return to the starting XI. Speaking about Sa’s arrival,
John Ruddy said: “It’s another member of the squad and another challenge. Like I said when I signed the contract, I’m not here to sit on the bench – I don’t want to and I haven’t wanted to in the whole time I’ve been here. But at the same time, it’s the manager’s choice. If I’m doing well enough when I’m training and when I am playing, hopefully I get to keep the shirt.”
