New Leicester City striker Patson Daka has penned a classy goodbye message to former club Red Bull Salzburg after his move to Leicester City was confirmed. The 22-year-old joined on a five-year deal on Wednesday in a deal worth around £23m. After his transfer to City was announced, Daka took to social media to send a message to Foxes’ fans. And this morning, he penned an emotional farewell message to fans and players of his former club Salzburg.
Patson Daka said: “I would like to take this opportunity to express my appreciation to everyone at Red Bull Salzburg, I love you all! I could not have dreamt of a better experience in Austria – the support I received was incredible. Red Bull Salzburg gave me the opportunity to pursue my football career and had the patience and belief that I would succeed. RBS means so much to me, and it has been a huge honour to play for this team for the last four years. It has had such a positive impact on my growth as a professional. The club has played a key role in my development as a player and helped me become the best version of myself. I would like to say a huge thank you to the club board, coaches and of course my teammates. Thank you also to all the staff for putting up with me throughout my time in Salzburg, and my agent 12MANagement for supporting me, and being there for me. It has been an honour to be involved with such an amazing team and share unforgettable moments, from winning silverware, to working alongside some amazing players and coaches. Finally, to the supporters and fans that have been behind me every step of the way. I can’t thank you enough for showing me so much love and support during my time at the club. You’ve watched me evolve into the player I am today, and I will never forget the role you have all played throughout my journey. We have experienced highs and lows, but your loyalty has always been visible, and I will never forget the great time we’ve shared together. I will miss you all! It’s been a great journey, but the show must go on. I wish the entire club every success for the future and will continue rooting for you as a fan. Thank you for all the memories.”
