Jose Mourinho claimed that Chelsea star Billy Gilmour was the main reason Scotland left Wembley with a deserved point following a goalless draw against England in their Euro 2020 clash. England will be disappointed after they fumbled the opportunity to wrap up qualification before their final group game and they’ll now battle it out with the Czech Republic to see who ends up taking control of Group D.
Jose Mourinho said: “The kid Gilmour was the difference, he was always showing, he wanted the ball under the pressure. Steve Clarke organised the game tactically very well, but more importantly than that was the spirit. They didn’t come for a football match, it was clearly Steve and his staff’s job. They united the team and they were ready to fight.”
Mourinho continued by saying Scotland’s result was historical but they have to remain focused in order to beat Croatia at home.
