Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney had a Friday to remember for a couple of reasons. Ahead of making his return to the Scotland lineup for their Euro 2020 clash against England at Wembley Stadium, it was revealed that the left-back had agreed a new contract at the Emirates Stadium.

Mikel Arteta said: “I think he can be Arsenal captain as he has the respect and admiration of every member of the staff and every player,” the Spaniard said. It is just the way he is. He does it in a natural way. He is a really shy boy as well but he represents all of us in the club; all of the values that we want to instill and are in the DNA in this club.”

Shortly after the contract announcement, Tierney turned in a superb display as Scotland held England to a goalless draw which keeps their hopes of reaching the last-16 stage alive.

But as impressive as he was at Wembley, there was a moment at the final whistle that delighted some Arsenal fans even more.
