Jordan Pickford played down criticism of England’s performance as they drew 0-0 with Scotland in their second Euro 2020 match on Friday night.
Jordan Pickford said: “I thought I put in a good performance. I made one good save and come and commanded a few crosses. They put a lot of pressure on me but it’s just about being in that moment as a goalkeeper and helping your team-mates out. I felt like I did that tonight and another clean sheet which I’m pleased with. Obviously it’s a massive game and we want to take all three points every game we play and we want to win the game, but the bigger thing tonight was if we can’t win it, don’t get beat and the resilience of the lads to get the clean sheet. That’s what we did. We’ve got four points, we’re still in control of the group and we’ve got to get ready for Czech Republic now.”
