Daniel Levy has insisted that Tottenham have not even spoken to some of the managers they have been linked with as the club’s hunt for Jose Mourinho’s successor continues.
Daniel Levy said: “What’s been interesting is that I must have had about 30 different names from fans. Some of the individuals that have been mentioned in the media that have apparently rejected us, we haven’t even spoken to. I don’t want to comment on any one individual. Lots of things get reported. All I will say is until we make something official, that’s the only thing the fans ought to believe in.”
Meanwhile, he has insisted that Tottenham will spend this summer as they look to try and improve on a seventh-placed finish in the Premier League in 2020-21.
Daniel Levy added: “We will spend, but we are a self-sustaining club. We have to be sensible, we have had circumstances where the coach doesn’t want us to spend on an actual player. We will make investments into the squad.”
