Jack Grealish has taken pleasure in playfully criticising Kalvin Phillips off the back of training inside the England camp this week.
Jack Grealish said: “When you come here, the standard’s a little bit higher, but the tempo is the one thing that really stands out,” he said. You come here and everyone wants to impress, everyone wants to be in the squad, you’re trying to impress the manager and so the tempo goes up another level. H [Harry Kane] is always impressing me. I try to look at him and take bits of his game. Mason Mount is another one always training at 100 per cent, is always top class out there and then Phil. It’s impossible to get Phil off the pitch at the end. Kalvin’s been ‘megged a few times. He didn’t want me saying that, but I’d love to ‘meg him, I would. I’m actually going to try.”
The Aston Villa talisman was appearing in one of the national team’ssocial media videos and lifting the lid on events at St George’s Park this week. After praising the likes of Harry Kane, Mason Mount and Phil Foden, Grealish could not resist ribbing Leeds United’s midfielder for the amount of times he’s been nutmegged in training.
