Phil Foden has praised the likes of Mason Mount after winning the Men’s PFA Young Player of the Year award. Trent Alexander-Arnold, Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka, Mount, and Foden were all up for the award following a promising season for young English talent. Mount won the Champions League with Chelsea, while Foden won the Premier League and Carabao Cup with Manchester City, also reaching the final of the Champions League.
Phil Foden said: “I’m really honoured. There have been some great players in the past that have won it, and I feel really lucky because there have been so many great young talents this year. I’m feeling really happy to win it and it’s a special moment. I would like to thanks my parents, all of the coaches and the players as well, because without them creating the chances for me, I wouldn’t score and maybe I wouldn’t win the award. Without them, it wouldn’t be possible.”
Mount will be looking to go one better next season as he continues his impressive development in a Chelsea shirt, but not before joining Foden in the England squad for Euro 2020, which starts next week.
