Chris Wilder says he does not think John Lundstram will leave in January and believes he will run his contract down and walk away on a free in the summer. The Blades boss admits United will listen to offers for the contract rebel when the window opens next month but says, with only eight days to go, there has still been no enquiries for his services. Sander Berge has this week undergone an operation on a tendon in his leg, which he suffered in the first half against Manchester United last week, and now looks set to be out for up to four months. Lundstram leaving in January would add even more pressure to the numbers in that department but Wilder says he cannot see that being an issue.
Chris Wilder said “There’s been no enquiries for John, If someone comes in we have to assess that because they will have to come in with a fee and we will have to assess whether it’s worth doing that or not. Losing Sander is a blow. He has had an operation on the tendon in his leg and will be out for between three and four months. But my phone hasn’t rang once regarding John, so I don’t think he moves in this window. I don’t think he will go until his contract runs down at the end of the season.”
