Former Reds striker Michael Owen claims Diogo Jota as the ‘signing of the season’ and has backed him as he believes that he would torment his old team on Sunday.
After an impressive 2-1 win over Arsenal last week despite losing Raul Jiminez in the first half, Wolves now travel to Anfield to continue their momentum.
Since last few seasons, Jimenez has become the jewel of Wolves, but Jota was their second highest scorer behind the Mexican. Last summer, Jota was sold to Liverpool and became an instant fan favourite at Anfield, scoring five goals in his first eight league games.
Owen believes Jota will enjoy facing his former club as he would face the Wolves for the first time since leaving on Sunday.
Michael said, “Arguably, Diogo Jota has been the signing of the season, so far. He comes into this in red hot form and I think it could be written in the stars that he scores against his former club.”
