Former Arsenal icon Ian Wright has made his prediction for Sunday’s London derby between Chelsea and Tottenham. Spurs were top of the table after nine games – Liverpool moving ahead after they played on Saturday, with Jose Mourinho’s men two points ahead of Frank Lampard’s men who are now 13 games unbeaten across all competitions.
Tottenham are five games unbeaten, but they are attracting plenty of plaudits after their statement win over Manchester City last weekend, winning 2-0 to go some way in proving their title credentials. Sunday’s clash looks to be too hard to call and that’s exactly how Gunners legend Wright sees it, tipping an entertaining draw at Stamford Bridge.
Ian Wright said: “I’m going to go with a draw, probably 2-2 or something. I fancy a draw in that game. When you’re playing against teams like Manchester City or Arsenal or even Chelsea, who will try and come at you, why not do what Tottenham are doing? It’s very effective. If you don’t pick up Harry Kane and you’ve got runners behind. Against City, they totally exposed them with the quality. The ball [Tanguy] Ndombele put in, Harry Kane’s great movement in front, Son [Heung-min] going beyond. I think that works for them.”
