Former Manchester United midfielder Roy Keane has said Manchester City need more of an attacking threat after Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Liverpool. Gabriel Jesus rescued a point for City after Mohamed Salah had equalised from the penalty spot, but Pep Guardiola’s men arguably should have won the game after missing a number of key chances. Keane opined after the match that while City are a joy to watch, they are missing a constant goal threat that Jesus and Sergio Aguero fail to deliver. Despite the latter not being involved in Sunday’s draw as he continues his recovery from injury, the United legend questioned his attitude, saying the Argentinian striker rarely returns from a spell on the sidelines looking ‘like a lean, mean fighting machine’.

Roy Keane said “I think the big worry for City is that they’re always brilliant to watch and they control most games but that lack of goals, the lack of goal threat in the team, Talking about Aguero to come back but when he came back from his last injury, he looked like he was still carrying a bit of weight and you’re wondering whether he has got that bit of hunger and desire. If he comes back, he picks up another injury. I’d like to see what he is doing in his recovery because he doesn’t come back like a lean, mean fighting machine and Jesus, you can’t hang your hat on him, so a big concern for City is the lack of goals.”
