Frank Lampard has challenged Willian to score even more for Chelsea this season after his superb display against Tottenham Hotspur. The Brazilian was at his very best on Sunday as he bagged a brace to secure an important win for the Blues.
Frank Lampard said “It was an incredible performance. He has that talent. I knew he had that talent before I got the job. I think I have said this before, but the last year or two I have looked at him from afar and wasn’t sure how much he was enjoying it, whether he felt happy in games. A bit of body language, in and out sometimes.”
Willian’s strength lies in being able to operate across the front line and provide tremendous industry in all areas of the field. He can be electric, as he boasts pace to burst past challenges and strength to hold on to the ball. Willian’s only criticism has been not being consistent enough in scoring goals like Eden Hazard. Frank Lampard knows that if Willian can make up for some of the goals that Hazard uses to score, Chelsea would rely less on Tammy Abraham only. Another factor is 31-year-old’s future which is still up in the air.
