David McGoldrick, who knows a thing or two about having to wait for good things to come, believes that turnaround for Sheffield United will happen soon.
David McGoldrick said: “We’ve just got to keep going and get back to what we’re good at in both boxes, keeping the ball out of the net and scoring goals. We’ll get back to it, there’s no doubt about that. We’re four games in and there’s no panic button being pressed yet. We’ve got to take it to the next game. We went to Arsenal with the mentality of getting something. We knew we were in the game but we had a sloppy period and got punished by a top side. We haven’t been at our best, we know that, but we’ve been in most of the games. We had a sloppy six minutes against Wolves, the Villa game… I can go on, but we’re still in games. If we up our levels, which I know we can, we’ll be able to fight our way through this league again.”
Sheffield United finally broke their duck in front of goal last time out, against Arsenal. Now, the aim is clear. Get the first win on the board. They’ll aim to put four straight defeats behind them when fellow strugglers Fulham head to Bramall Lane on Sunday. It’s not as Chris Wilder’s side have been spanked in those four defeats. Three of them have been by slender, one-goal margins. The aim now is to turn the tide and finally get off the mark.
