Justin Kluivert
Justin Kluivert, who has been sidelined since January due to a knee injury, is on the verge of making a comeback for Bournemouth. The Dutch winger recently underwent surgery and has since been progressing well in his recovery. Manager Andoni Iraola has provided an encouraging update on Kluivert’s fitness, highlighting his potential impact in the remaining fixtures of the season.
Andoni Iraola said: “Very positive news. He has been training still not fully this week, but at a very good level. Probably Sunday arrives too early for him, but I think he will help us in these last games of the season. And after such a long time, four or five months out, I think everything has gone smoothly. Also now after trainings his knee is responding really well, no swelling, no issues. So I think he’s going to be a good help for these last games of the season. But still, for this one, I think it’s going to be too much.”
Andoni Iraola continued: “And I think Sunday probably is going to be early, but because we have a lot of players and also I have to take decisions about the squad and, and we don’t need to rush him also. But it’s true that the next one he will be definitely there and he will be willing to have his minutes.”
Kluivert’s return to full training is a significant boost for Bournemouth as they approach the final stretch of the season. Although Iraola has indicated that Kluivert is unlikely to feature in the upcoming match, the manager is optimistic about the player’s involvement in subsequent games. The winger’s recovery has been smooth, with no swelling or issues reported post-training, suggesting he could be a valuable asset in the closing matches.
Kluivert’s eagerness to return to action is also fueled by his aspirations to make the Netherlands World Cup squad. While the immediate focus remains on his gradual reintegration into the team, his potential inclusion in the national squad adds an extra layer of motivation for the player.
