Tottenham Hotspur are in a precarious position, sitting in the bottom three of the Premier League with just four games left to secure their survival. The club is only two points adrift from West Ham, making every match crucial in their fight to remain in the top flight. Radu Dragusin, who has seen limited action under manager Roberto De Zerbi, is determined to contribute to Tottenham’s cause.
Manea said: “I said we won’t talk until the end of the championship; he’s focused on saving Tottenham. I also talked to him last night. We have time; no one is rushing us for now. His priority now is saving Tottenham. I haven’t talked to Fiorentina, Juventus or even Tottenham. I’ll arrive in England next week, I’ll meet with Radu, and we’ll see.”
Dragusin has only made ten appearances for Spurs this season, starting six times. His campaign was disrupted by an anterior cruciate ligament injury sustained in January 2025 during a Europa League match against Elfsborg. This injury kept him sidelined for the first half of the season, making his recent return to action even more significant.
Roberto De Zerbi said: “I think the players, they know what they are and what they can do on the pitch, especially this season, because it’s true, we didn’t win a game in 2026, but on the table in the Champions League, they finished fifth place, no? In the Champions League, I think it’s not so easy, or it’s easier than the Premier League, so they have to be positive, they have to feel full confidence, because they are good, and not to see the other results, for example, West Ham. Now, the first game is at Villa Park. That’s it.”
Despite the challenges, De Zerbi remains optimistic about Tottenham’s chances of survival. He emphasized the importance of player quality and morale over the club’s name, expressing confidence in the squad’s ability to stay up.
Roberto De Zerbi continued: “I believe to stay up. If I stay here, it’s because I’m positive, now, because I’m a coach of Tottenham. Tottenham is not important on the pitch; if you are Tottenham or another team, the most important are the qualities of the players, and the human level of the players. It was a surprise for me, because I didn’t know them, and when I knew better my players, I understood that we have the possibility, the chance to stay up.”
The upcoming fixture at Villa Park marks the beginning of a crucial period for Spurs. With Dragusin’s focus on the task at hand and De Zerbi’s belief in the team’s potential, Tottenham will be hoping to turn their fortunes around and secure their place in the Premier League.
