Burnley are currently facing speculation regarding the future of their left-back, Quilindschy Hartman, amid reported interest from Turkish club Besiktas. Renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has suggested that Besiktas are actively pursuing a deal for Hartman, with a bid expected soon. Despite these claims, Burnley have yet to receive any formal enquiries from the Turkish side.
Fabrizio Romano said: “A first bid is expected soon and no issues are anticipated on personal terms.”
Scott Parker said: “I just feel that it’s best for him just to be watching it from afar at this present moment in time. I see that he will be here, yeah. Obviously I’m just trying to manage the situation to give Q the best opportunity to perform at the level I know he can perform at, like I said, in a different environment, a different culture, in a different league. But yeah, I have no doubt he’ll be here with us.”
Quilindschy Hartman said: “With this message I would like to make it clear that I am not going to Ajax and that as long as I am a Burnley player I will give everything for the club. We’re in a difficult phase with Burnley and that’s why I found it disrespectful to talk openly on Instagram about any club other than Burnley, but I think it’s good that I clear up this because I’m the only one who knows how it is.”
Hartman, who joined Burnley in the summer, has found himself out of favor in recent weeks, missing out on three of the last four matchday squads. His absence was particularly notable during Burnley’s recent match against Brighton, where the team was already missing 11 first-team players, leading to the inclusion of two youngsters on the bench. Despite this, Burnley manager Parker remains confident that Hartman will stay with the club beyond the January transfer window.
The 24-year-old Dutchman recently announced his decision to part ways with his agency, Forza Sports Group, and is now representing himself. In his statement, Hartman emphasized his commitment to Burnley, dismissing rumors of a potential move to Ajax. He expressed his dedication to the club, acknowledging the challenging phase Burnley is currently experiencing and his desire to remain focused on his responsibilities at Turf Moor.
As the January transfer window approaches, it remains to be seen whether Besiktas will formalize their interest in Hartman. For now, Burnley fans can take solace in the player’s commitment to the club and his determination to contribute to their success.
