Former Crystal Palace star Darren Ambrose says that three of Crystal Palace’s current XI would get into the Manchester United starting lineup. And former Palace star Ambrose says that three of Roy Hodgson’s current starting XI would get into United’s team, with a number of their stars currently underperforming.
Palace dispatched United with a 3-1 win at Old Trafford on Saturday evening, with Jeff Schlupp opening the scoring and Wilfried Zaha grabbing two goals against his former club. Palace were impressive from front to back in the win – their second of the Premier League season after the opening day 1-0 victory over Southampton at Selhurst Park.
Darren Ambrose said “Palace were by far the better team. I think Man United were lucky to score one goal. It was only the comical defending from Palace, and probably the only thing they did wrong in the whole game. I think Zaha would get into Man United’s first XI, I also think Guaita would get into the first XI in goal. [He’s] a very, very underrated goalkeeper. Although he’s not played very many games, at the moment Tyrick Mitchell at left-back would get into that Man United team, 100 per cent.”
Up next for Palace is a home clash against Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton side, who are similarly flying at the start of the season. They picked up an opening weekend win away to Spurs before their 5-2 demolition of West Brom at Goodison Park on Saturday.
