Diogo Jota has paid an emotional tribute to Wolverhampton Wanderers fans after leaving to join Liverpool. The popular Portuguese forward completed a move to Anfield on Friday night for a fee which could eventually rise to £45million. Jota netted 44 goals in 131 games for Wolves after joining the club, initially on loan, from Atletico Madrid in 2017. He was instrumental in Wolves winning the Championship title and played a huge part in taking the club to an FA Cup semi-final and the Europa League quarter-finals during his stay at Molineux.
Diogo Jota said “Thank you @Wolves 3 amazing years with so many achievements and memories! It was really a big pleasure being part of your growth… I will never forget.”
Prior to joining Wolves, Jota spent a season on loan at FC Porto where he was a teammate of Neves and the pair are now fully-fledged internationals with their country.
