Sean Dyche Burnley
Nottingham Forest is set to face Fulham in a vital Premier League match at Craven Cottage on Monday evening. Following their recent victory over Tottenham Hotspur, Sean Dyche’s side has moved five points clear of the relegation zone, and the team is eager to maintain their positive momentum. As they prepare for this key encounter, the focus has been on rigorous training sessions to ensure the squad is in top form.
Sean Dyche said: “They have all trained hard today. It has been a tough day for them today. I’m renowned for being the Grinch at this time of year! It is one of the downsides of the job. It is a working period, as it always has been for me.”
Dyche continued: “It’s made a change, to be honest. Since we’ve been here, all we’ve been doing is playing! I think it’s a good change for the players to have a few extra days this week to recover. It has been a pretty hard day of work today, then they will be recovering tomorrow and we will build into the game. I think it’s been a good break for the players, just because of the travelling and the game schedule they have had. It has fallen good for us this time.”
Dyche explained: “It is a prerequisite of the game. I know the stats and the facts of the Premier League – we all see them. I said when I got here, I wanted the players how I think they should be fit. It is not questioning any other manager; all managers have their own ways.”
He added: “It would mean it’s quite high, I would suggest. And they have got to be prepped ready to play how I want them to play. We have seen some good signs of that since I’ve been here. We have been unfortunate with injuries and haven’t had a pre-season, so we have had to edge it forwards. I think the players have been very good with taking their responsibility on that and accepting the workload. They have done very well with it so far.”
The upcoming match against Fulham is crucial for Nottingham Forest, as they aim to solidify their position away from the relegation zone. The team has utilized the free week to focus on recovery and fitness, which Dyche believes is essential given the demanding schedule they have faced. This period has allowed the players to recuperate and prepare thoroughly for the clash.
Dyche’s emphasis on fitness and preparation reflects his commitment to ensuring that the team plays to his high standards. Despite the challenges of injuries and a lack of pre-season, the squad has shown resilience and dedication in adapting to the manager’s expectations. As they head into the match against Fulham, Forest fans will be hopeful that the team’s hard work on the training ground translates into success on the pitch.
