After a disappointing start to the season, West Ham manager David Moyes has provided an update on his views on upcoming matches, the reason Jack Wilshere has not been seen so far amidst rumours of contract termination by the club and the side’s performance against Charlton Athletic in the EFL Cup trophy.
David Moyes said “I said after, the only disappointing thing is we should have won more comfortably. But I am pleased for Seb (Haller), scoring goals is important and it gives him confidence. It shows that we have got competition, Michail Antonio was scoring goals towards the end of last season so we hope that Seb goes on a run of scoring goals as well. He (Jack Wilshere) rolled his ankle in training yesterday or he would have played tonight. Or certainly around the squad. It’s the first time since lockdown he has had an injury so it was just a roll of his ankle. I don’t know, I don’t know. Just wait and see, won’t we. I just want to win whatever game we play next. I’d have taken 3-0 before the game but I thought that by the end I was disappointed that we hadn’t won by more. Keeping a clean sheet was good as well and we look forward to the next game and get a win in that. Any cup win, any competition I am thrilled to do so.
