Ahead of Everton’s Coca Cola cup tie, striker Tony Cottee spoke about how going away from the premier league competition would do the team well, missing Dave Watson from the side and the leaky defence that needed to be sorted for their season to turn around.
Tony Cottee said “It will be a good distraction, a home tie suits us fine. Even though Crystal palace will be a tough team. Our priority is to tighten things up at the back. We have conceded 13 goals in four games while scoring 11 in the same spell. It’s nice to see the goals going in. It’s always easier to alter things tactically to solve a defensive dilemma than it is to end a goal drought. We have missed Dave’s presence, both as a captain and a powerhouse defender.”
