Estevao Willian
Estevao Willian has officially bid farewell to Palmeiras, marking the end of his journey with the Brazilian club. Having agreed to a move to Chelsea last summer, the 18-year-old starlet is now set to join Enzo Maresca’s senior first-team squad. Estevao’s final appearance for Palmeiras came during the Club World Cup, where he scored against Chelsea, showcasing his immense talent. Despite his efforts, a late own goal saw Palmeiras exit the competition. Estevao departs as one of the most promising teenagers in world football, having already surpassed Neymar’s goal contributions at the same age during his record-breaking 2024 Serie A campaign.
Estevao Willian said: “My family and I thank Palmeiras for everything they’ve done for us. Thank you, Palmeiras. I was very happy here – all my teammates and the coaching staff embraced me, so it’s sad to be saying farewell under these circumstances.”
Estevao Willian added: “I spoke before with Maresca and told him ‘you bought an amazing player but more than this you bought an amazing person’. You need to take care of him. You need to embrace him and in the beginning for sure he will make mistakes. Like you saw today he is an amazing player with a lot of skill.”
Estevao Willian concluded: “Happy because we won and also happy because Estevao scored, the perfect night. He is very good, a huge talent, fantastic player. We are going to help him to adapt, be happy and enjoy football. We have no doubt he will be an important player for Chelsea.”
Estevao’s transition to Chelsea represents a significant step in his burgeoning career. Known for his exceptional skills and goal-scoring prowess, he leaves Palmeiras with a wealth of experience, having played over a year of adult football. Estevao’s ability to surpass Neymar’s early career statistics has placed him in the upper echelons of young football talent, making his arrival at Chelsea highly anticipated.
As Estevao prepares to embark on this new chapter, Chelsea fans eagerly await his contributions to the team. His departure from Palmeiras is bittersweet, as he leaves behind a club that has been instrumental in his development. Nonetheless, Estevao’s potential to become a key player for Chelsea is undeniable, and his journey in European football is one to watch.
